Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade and ABC Bank Tunisia Sign Financing Agreement to Support Foreign Trade in the Maghreb

Tunis, Monday, August 10, 2026 – As part of its commitment to supporting foreign trade and strengthening economic integration among the countries of the Maghreb, the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade (BMICE) has entered into a strategic financing agreement worth USD 8.5 million with ABC Bank Tunisia, aimed at supporting foreign trade transactions to and from Maghreb countries.

This agreement is part of the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade’s strategy to develop trade finance mechanisms and support businesses operating in the region, thereby facilitating trade exchanges and strengthening economic and financial ties among Maghreb countries.

The agreement represents the first building block of a cooperation program between the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade and ABC Bank Tunisia, paving the way for the development of a sustainable partnership aimed at providing tailored foreign trade financing solutions, supporting exporting and importing companies, and contributing to regional economic growth.

Through this partnership, the Maghreb Bank reaffirms its commitment to fulfilling its role as a specialized regional financial institution supporting trade and investment, while working to strengthen intra-Maghreb trade and lay the foundations for more comprehensive economic integration across the region.

Dr. Fauzi ABOKHZAM, Director General of the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade, stated that this agreement represents an important step in developing cooperation with ABC Bank Tunisia and reflects the Bank’s commitment to providing financing solutions that support businesses, strengthen trade exchanges, and promote economic integration in the Maghreb region.

For his part, Mr. Saber AYADI, Managing Director of ABC Bank Tunisia, noted that the agreement reflects the Bank’s commitment to supporting foreign trade financing and economic development, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic ties among the countries of the region as a driver of sustainable growth and value creation.

The signing of this agreement further strengthens the presence of the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade in the field of trade finance and embodies its vision of leveraging financial instruments to serve economic development, support businesses, and enhance trade exchanges among Maghreb countries.
